Q: I have hepatitis C, for which Im taking medication. I am considering trying herbs or other alternatives as well. What do I need to think about before starting?
A: There is little scientific proof that alternative medicine (often referred to as holistic medicine) can effectively treat liver diseases, such as hepatitis C. However, based on scientific theory and numerous case reports, holistic medical treatments may complement conventional Western medical therapies for liver disease.
